Carpenters Union VR Recruitment

The VR Videos are confidential and not available for public viewing at this time.

 OBJECTIVE

Design an immersive experience to be used at trade shows and job fairs in order to recruit fresh graduates and experienced freelancers to join the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (The Carpenters Union).

PUTTING THE PUZZLE TOGETHER

The piece was filmed at three worksites, illustrating a broad range of job opportunities. Conditions on construction sites change from day-to-day. Flexibility with scheduling as well as speed & precision with our shooting approach was of paramount importance in order to achieve success.

Together with the Carpenters Union, NextWave Safety Solutions and CreatorUp, we conducted ad hoc interviews on the ground with union members, students and staff. These interviews informed the shot list and served as the basis for our narrative.

The production value was enhanced by complex 360 camera rigging to construction equipment for visually dynamic moving camera perspectives and aerial VR cinematography.

FINAL PRODUCT

Filming with the latest VR cinema techniques, up-close-and-personal, puts prospective recruits in the shoes of their future colleagues.

First person accounts of how important the union is to its members and their families lend this immersive experience the authentic testimony required to win over the hearts and mind of new recruits.
