Harvest in the Bogs | Apple Immersive Video Case Study (Vision Pro)
What This Is
This is an Apple Immersive Video case study for Apple Vision Pro, demonstrating stereoscopic immersive filmmaking for global audiences.
Objective
Create an immersive film that introduces international audiences to cranberry harvesting—one of only three fruits native to North America—by translating a largely unfamiliar agricultural process into a visually compelling, emotionally resonant experience.
The piece was designed to travel globally as both a storytelling asset and a cultural bridge, performing across trade shows, headset-based exhibitions, and experiential environments.
Putting the Puzzle Together
Captured in Apple Immersive Video format, the film creates a strong sense of depth and presence.
Filmed across multiple farms, the project combines serene landscapes with the choreography of both people and machinery. A key narrative thread emerged: while growers compete, they also cooperate, sharing resources like water systems that flow across adjacent fields.
This dynamic is carried through intergenerational voiceover from Stephen V. Lee III and Stephen V. Lee IV of Lee Brothers Farm, reflecting a reality consistent across every location.
From a technical standpoint, the production pushed boundaries. Captured using the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive, the project was among the first to successfully mount the system on a drone. Nontraditional rigging, combined with post-production stabilization, enabled dynamic movement while maintaining the visual quality expected from Apple Immersive Video—at approximately 25% of the typical cost.
The production timeline was intentionally lean:
1 day of location scouting
2.5 weeks of pre-production
2 days of filming
A first cut was delivered within 3 weeks, with final revisions completed roughly one month later for international trade show deployment.
Beyond production, the project included playback strategy for trade show environments. A custom headset experience enabled hands-free, auto-play viewing, allowing attendees to step directly into the film without instruction or controllers—ensuring high throughput and a consistent audience experience.
Final Product
A 6-minute Apple Immersive Video experience designed for global audiences.
The piece blends atmosphere, education, and technical innovation into a cohesive experience.
Deployments at trade shows include integrated analytics, providing insight into viewer engagement across activations.
“Harvest in the Bogs” was selected for curation on Theater, a selective platform for immersive content on Apple Vision Pro, signaling both creative and technical excellence within the emerging immersive media and spatial computing ecosystem.

Deployment & Experience Design
In addition to producing the film, the project included end-to-end deployment for trade show environments:
Hands-free headset playback (auto-play, no controllers)
Delivery and optimization for Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest
Audience flow design for high-volume settings
Remote-ready content management and updates
This ensured the experience was not only visually compelling, but also reliable, scalable, and easy to operate in real-world environments.
Why It Matters
This project shows how high-end Apple Immersive Video can be produced efficiently without sacrificing cinematic quality, making immersive storytelling more accessible for brands and institutions.
It also demonstrates how immersive work can be successfully deployed in real-world environments, not just produced.
The film has proven to be a showstopper with global audiences, drawing lines at trade shows from India to Dubai, Singapore, and Thailand.
We bridge the gap between content creation and audience experience by designing both the film and how it’s encountered.
