Christie’s Getty Collection 3D 360VR Tour

 OBJECTIVE

Create a 360 video virtual tour of the Ann & Gordon Getty Collection in its original environment, the Getty's private home in San Francisco to provide an immersive and interactive experience for viewers, giving them a unique perspective on the collection and its magnificent setting, giving context for the auction of the estate.

PUTTING THE PUZZLE TOGETHER

The production process for this project involved a scripting and improvisation process with Jonathan Rendell, Deputy Chairman at Christies. Through close collaboration with Rendell, we ddreww upon his extensive research and technical exprtise to thoroughly examine the Getty Collection and its contents, as well as the layout and design of the Getty's private home, room by room. Rendell’s poignant anecdotes, shaped our approach for filming the tour and ensuring that all the key elements of the collection and home were captured in the final VR video.

Footage was filmed using cutting-edge stereoscopic immersive video technology, including high-quality cameras and 360 lighting equipment, to capture every detail of the collection and its surroundings. .

FINAL PRODUCT

The success of the tour was highlighted by the success of the Ann & Gordon Getty Collection auction, which achieved a total in excess of $150 million with all proceeds benefiting the couple's foundation for arts and science organizations. The live auctions saw world records for several artists and strong results for many others, demonstrating the strength of the decorative arts market.

The VR experience not only transports viewers & buyers so that they can experience the collection in a whole new way, it also preserves for perpetuity the remarkable collection - before it was auctioned - as it was originally curated by Mrs. Getty for her home.

The VR Videos are confidential and not available for public viewing at this time.
